Coffeewiz was fortunate to be one of the FIRST online single serve coffee retailers with Wolfgang Puck Sumatra Kopi Raya Coffee K Cups. That means they were one of the first to sample the product and share feedback witn you!
This coffee was taste tested first as a hot cup. The flavor was earthy, spicy and bold. The coffee was brewer in a Keurig brewer on the 8 oz setting. If you enjoy a dark roast, and more strong flavor, you will be pleased with Wolfgang Puck Sumatra Kopi Raya Keurig K-Cups.
The next taste test of Wolfgang Puck Sumatra Kopi Raya Coffee K Cups was as an iced coffee brew. Brewed on the larger 8 oz setting, in a mug, it was then poured over a full large glass filled with ice. The brew held up well to ice with its bold rich coffee flavor. There was a pleasantly strong coffee that filled the cup, and as it melted, it still maintained its rich roasted flavor.

The earliest historic records of coffee were between 575 and 850 A.D.
Legend has it that a young Ethiopian goat herder, Kaldi, saw his goats jumping around and acting frisky after eating some red berries from a bush.
Kaldi tried some of the berries himself. He amazingly felt awakened and began to dance around with his goats.
So coffee was discovered in Ethiopia...by a goat!

Here is an excerpt from Chelsy's review at Teaviews.com (which we are very thankful for):
"With whole miniature rose buds and jade coloured Oolong leaves, how could I possibly resist? Essentially, I am a sucker for rose, which I did not truly understand until date night rolled around and we tried some rose gelato. That gelato reminded me of this tea in wide ways, and good news is that I love them both.
The amber liquor of the brew is has a fantasy appeal, reminding me of a smooth and hintingly creamy drink with a viscosity of pure water. A nutty aroma given off by the leaves post-steep is darling, and well fitting to the cup. There's also a warm, fresh cut garden aroma that glides up with the steamy evaporation. The finish and aftertaste is sweet and simple rose. Obviously, if rose is not something the drinker enjoys, they will dislike this tea.
On the contrary, I found this gem wonderfully enjoyable and uplifting..."

Yum! Vickie tested this recipe over the weekend, and brought in a batch for Coffeewiz staff to sample. It passed the "yummy" test, so here it is for you to enjoy:
White Chocolate Chai Tea Spiced S'mores
Cook Time:10 min Level: Easy Yield: 24 s'mores
Ingredients 8 ounces white baking chocolate, finely chopped 3/4 cup cream 1 TBSP Tavalon Kama Chai Sutra loose tea 16 honey graham cracker squares (2 1/2-inch squares) 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows, or 24 large marshmallows
Directions Put chopped white chocolate in heatproof bowl.
Put milk in a small saucepan and bring to simmer over medium heat. Add loose chai tea, stir, remove from heat and let stand 10 minutes. Return the chai tea-infused cream to medium heat until just simmering.
Pour the chai tea-infused cream through a fine mesh strainer set over the bowl of chocolate. Shake the bowl to evenly distribute the cream and let stand 5 minutes to melt the chocolate.
Stir until very smooth and let the chocolate cool to room temperature. Discard the loose tea leaves.
To make the s'mores in the oven, set an oven rack 6 to 8 inches from the broiler and preheat.
Put 8 graham cracker squares on a baking sheet and spread 1/2 teaspoon of the cooled chocolate over the entire surface of each square.
Arrange mini marshmallows (or place 1 whole marshmallow) on each chocolate covered graham, being sure to cover the cracker completely.
Spread about 1/2 teaspoon of the chocolate on each remaining graham crackers and set them aside.
Transfer the pan to the oven and toast the marshmallows under the broiler until deep golden brown, about 30 seconds. Keep an eye on the marshmallows - they toast very quickly!
Remove the chai tea s'mores from the oven and top with the chocolate covered grahams, chocolate side down. Press lightly to spread the chocolate to the edges.
Let the s'mores cool for 1 to 2 minutes before munching away!
Note: You can store the unused white chocolate chai tea sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. You can melt and pour over ice cream or stirred into hot milk for chai-tea spiced hot chocolate!
Let us know how you like this recipe - we know you'll love Tavalon Kama Chai Sutra. It has become a fast favorite here at Coffeewiz! ~Vickie

Here is our latest press release on the topic:
Coffeewiz Introduces New Line of Gourmet Tavalon Loose Leaf Tea to E-Commerce Website, Offers Customers New Multiple Health Benefits
Coffeewiz.com, a leading e-commerce retailer of single serve coffee and loose leaf tea, announced today the addition of the Tavalon Loose Leaf Tea product line to their current selection of gourmet loose leaf tea products.
“The decision to carry the Tavalon product line was easy,” says Jim Evans, Vice President of Coffeewiz.com. “I taste all of our tea products and from my first cup of this rich tea I knew I wanted to share this experience with our customers.”
Tavalon Tea has received much media attention over recent years. Most recently, it was featured on NBC News (December, 2009) in a segment on recommended culinary gifts for food lovers for the holidays.
Evans and Coffeewiz staff sampled different Tavalon varieties to see which products they felt would suit their customers best. It was unanimously decided that a wide variety of teas would be best suited. Coffeewiz will carry a Tavalon tea product in each anti-oxidant rich tea leaf variety, including black tea, green tea, white tea, and oolong tea. In addition, selections were chosen of rooibos and other herbal teas. The new Coffeewiz line of Tavalon Loose Leaf Tea varieties includes Earl Grey Reserve, NYC Breakfast, Kama Chai Sutra, Jasmine Dream, Summer Fruits, Lemongreen, Tropical Peony, Peachy Oolong, Serenity and Crimson Punch.
Tavalon presents a fresh, new, accessible face for tea while educating the general public about its many health benefits. The multiple health benefits of drinking tea, as concluded by numerous studies and reported by publications such as the Harvard Health Watch, include anti-cancer properties, increasing metabolism, fighting diabetes, boosting mental alertness and aiding the immune system.
“We are proud to announce our partnership with Coffeewiz.com,” says Tavalon Founder and CEO, John-Paul Lee. “Tea and coffee go hand-in-hand and we believe that there is a strong symbiotic relationship between the two businesses. We are looking forward to the new venture.”
The addition of the Tavalon loose leaf tea product line comes on the heels of the success of Coffeewiz’s introduction of the loose leaf tea infuser mug and loose leaf tea infuser teapot, developed as a single serve solution to brewing tea. “Coffeewiz Facebook Fans and our single serve coffee community is used to the touch of a button and thought that brewing loose leaf tea would be a hassle,” says Vickie Smith-Siculiano, Coffeewiz Social Media Coordinator. “We realized we needed to offer a single-serve solution to brewing an individual serving of tea so our community could take advantage of loose leaf tea’s many health benefits.”
Coffeewiz.com was founded by coffee lovers and specializes in single serve products, including Keurig, Tassimo, Senseo, Dolce Gusto, Coffee Pods, Lavazza and Gourmet imported Loose Leaf Tea. The privately held corporation is headquartered in Moonachie, NJ and can be found on the web at http://www.Coffeewiz.com.

This video was shot behind the scenes for an upcoming episode of "Live It Up" with Donna Drake. It was filmed at Digital Waterworks in Long Island, NY, featuring a comparison of the old style brewing we know as "drip" coffee to Single Serve coffee, what we all know now as the future of coffee!
Turkey is the number consumer of tea in the world, per capita (Source: Wikipedia, 1/09). As popular as drinking Turkish Coffee, Turkish Tea is a very distinct drinking experience, drunk in in a very unique way.
The Turks do not drink their tea in ceramic mugs, or brew it the convenient single serve way. It is servcd strong, black and steaming hot in small, tulip-shaped glasses called 'ince belli.' The Turks serve multiple glasses of the red-colored tea. Also, tea houses are customary in parks and public spaces. The tea house is going through a transformation to more trendy tea pubs.
Turkish Tea is both brewed and drunk in Turkey similar to Russian Tea, moreso than the English or Chinese enjoy their tea. Both Turkey and Russia brew tea in a a samovar – a brass water boiler that is charcoal fueled, using rich black tea. Both cultures brew tea for fifteen minutes or more and then mix it with very hot, but not boiling, water to lighten it to taste. They then sweeten it with sugar to taste, but never add honey or milk to their glass tea cup. The Turkish and Russian cultures also both drink their tea in small, thin glasses, rather than ceramic or porcelain cups.
History of Tea Drinking in Turkey
Tea drinking in Turkey actually dates back to the 1600s. According to one legend, Back then, coffeehouses had quickly become places where men would gather to drink coffee, puff on hookahs, play their table games like tabli, and discuss the day's affairs.
After a series of fires caused by hookahs swept through the land around 1633, all the coffeehouses were ordered to be closed by an angry sultan. The Turks switched to tea as an alternative, and became quite fond of the substitute.
Boil about 1 cup of water per cup of tea on a stove top or in a samovar.
Pour HALF of the steaming water into the teapot. Let it steep for at least 15 minutes, keeping both the teapot and the remaining water piping hot.
Pour the tea into a small glass cup, or ince belli, about halfway. Add the water to fill the remainder, with sugar to taste. But remember that the Turks never add milk or honey!
While the U.S. is #20 in worldwide tea consumption, as a melting pot of cultures, many like to enjoy a new brew, or at least learn how another culture might enjoy theirs. It helps us appreciate our own culture and the luxury of having so much variety available to us all!
While we carry a full selection of single serve brewers, we also carry a full line of gourmet loose leaf teas. Our rich black teas are a great substitute for Turkish Black Tea, with its rich flavor and aroma.
The Coffeewiz Single Serve Glass Tea Brewing Solution will be up on our website within the next day or two. Join us on Facebook and Follow us on Twitter to be the first to know!
Please share your comments on this Turkish Tea post, for Tea Time Tuesday!

Did you know that there are health benefits to drinking green tea? Even if you are a devout coffee drinker, you can still take advantage of anti-oxidant-rich green tea...maybe in between your favorite caffeinated java brew...Did you know that while caffeine can be dehydrating, tea is hydrating. Tea's chemical structure protects the brain from caffeine.
Green Tea is loaded with rich health benefits - weight loss, reducing cholesterol, reducing the risk of diabetes and cancer, increasing your stamina, and lots more.
This video takes a brief, creatively visual look at the health benefits of this ancient brew. It is a good primer for those who may not know that tea comes from the same plant...
While Coffeewiz is known as THE place to come for your single serve coffee needs, we carry a full lines of whole leaf teas, too. The green tea collection has a variety of traditional blends, such as gunpowder tea, but also fruit blends with real pieces of natural fruit, that also add their own health benefits. We have even included green tea images for our customers that have asked - here is the new look of our green tea product line.
Whole leaf tea's popularity has taken off, and Coffeewiz wants to fulfill our customer's needs, so our whole leaf teas selection be growing in the coming months.
Please share your thoughts and let us know if you find this interesting - we do!
Watch this video and learn of some of those benefits, which we will dive into in the coming weeks.
For Tea Time Tuesday, we shot this new video for you single serve coffee fans...
If you are a K-Cup fan and have a Keurig brewer, it's very simple to make your own loose leaf tea brew. Coffeewiz has a delectable assortment variety of loose leaf tea and now wants to show you a very elegant simple solution for enjoying the experience of your own whole leaf tea personal brew.
This month, I have been sampling the loose leaf tea product line that Coffeewiz carries on their website. I tested the Coffeewiz Glass Tea Cup With Glass Strainer in the Keurig Home Brewer.
I brewed the Kings Earl Grey loose leaf tea in the glass tea cup, and pressed the large cup button. I am mainly avid coffee drinker, and a single serve fan, with both a Keurig and Tassimo brewer at home, but I like to keep an open mind and try something new - a little variety.
The Keurig dispensed the perfect amount for a single serve cup. Although the aroma of the fresh loose leaf brew was intoxicating, I closed the glass tea cup with the glass cover and let the brew steep for a minute, as I like my tea on the lighter side. But you can brew the tea to your personal taste - it's your choice.
I then took the glass tea strainer out of the glass and a perfect cup of loose leaf tea remained, with the leaves unfurled in the strainer. I saw lavender blossoms on top of the green tea leaves. While it was a beautiful sight, I prefer to keep my leaves separate from the tea I drink, so the strainer is a nice solution. The strainer has tiny glass slits that allow the water to pass, but keep the leaves behind in the neat little strainer.
The Single Serve Glass Tea Cup Loose Leaf Tea Experiment was a success. Please share your thoughts and comments with us, as we plan to roll out a Coffeewiz sample pack that includes A Glass Tea Cup and 4 FREE loose leaf tea samples! What do you think?
